Roundtable "Addressing online hate speech: the role of media accountability mechanisms"

This roundtable discussion will address the issue of online hate speech in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Organized in the framework of the EU-UNESCO Project "Media Accountability in South East Europe", this event will discuss the results of a national survey regarding the extent and nature of hate speech in online media in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The survey also identifies the measures undertaken by media and other organisations to address the situation, their efficiency and impact on freedom of expression.
The event will gather media professionals, media experts and representatives of media accountability mechanisms both from online and traditional media.
