Election reporting training for journalists

The Chairman of “Association Media en Action et pour la Formation” explains the theme for the World Press Freedom Day 2013.

A 3-day training workshop for journalists will take place in Madagascar to expand their professional and ethical skills in reporting elections. The training sessions will focus on media ethics, gender and media, the role of the media in conflict and during the election process.
The workshop falls within the framework of the PACEM Project (Le Projet d'appui au cycle électoral 2012-2014 de Madagascar) managed by UNDP Madagascar. This event will enhance the capacity of professionals to contribute to the promotion of peace, security and democracy in Madagascar.

The trainings are carried out in close cooperation with a number of local partner institutions such as the Independent National Electoral Commission of the transition CENI-T, Médias en Action pour la Formation (MAF) and the National News Agency (ANTA).
