Training on use of mobile phones in developing content for radio programming by community radios

UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa is organizing a one day joint mentoring training session with Frontline SMS - SOCIAL IMPACT LABCOMMUNITY INTEREST for community radio practitioners in Taita Taveta County, Voi, Kenya. The training will enable the radio stations to learn more about their listeners and allow the audience to have a more active voice in radio programming.
This event will focus on the use of mobile phones by correspondents for interviewing and reporting, management of daily contacts, development of mobile friendly content and usage of related broadcasting softwares i.e. office suits (FOSS) and Frontline SMS.
This training is part of UNESCO’s on-going three year project of empowering local radio with Information and Communication Technologies in 4 community radio stations in Kenya.
