Roundtable "Addressing online hate speech: the role of media accountability mechanisms"

This one-day roundtable discussion will address the issue of online hate speech in Turkey and how this can be tackled by media accountability mechanisms. This event which is taking place in the framework of the EU-UNESCO Project "Media Accountability in South East Europe" will gather around 30 participants from Turkey, including media professionals, media organisations, experts on hate speech, media ombudsmen, representatives of the judiciary and policy-makers. The roundtable will serve as a venue to discuss the results of a national survey about the extent and nature of online hate speech in Turkey.
