Greetings from the Garbage State

In the framework of the International Year of Water Cooperation, an exhibition is held in Venice at Ca 'Foscari University. The artist Maria Cristina Finucci has created this travelling exhibition which started in Paris on 11 April 2013 and will arrive on 24 November 2013 at the 55th International Art Exhibition in Venice.

This is the project installation invented by the artist Maria Cristina Finucci to sum up in a simple image what is in fact a very complex phenomenon of islands made of garbage and floating in the middle of the oceans.
The idea is inscribed in the framework of Wasteland, a complex art project on which the artist has been working for several months, composed of videos, images, and many other interventions.

The project will be exhibited at the 55th International Art Exhibition which will run in Venice through 24 November 2013.

It started in Paris on April 11 of this year, International Year of Water Cooperation, the new Federal State was institutionally - albeit symbolically - recognized during a performance-installation at the UNESCO headquarters.
