Series of three training workshops on gender-sensitive media content for Algerian journalists

Within the framework of the programme for the improvement of the image of women in the Maghreb media and the joint programme for gender equality and the empowerment of women in Algeria, the UNESCO Office in Rabat and the UNDP Office in Algeria organize a series of training workshops on gender-sensitive media content for 60 Algerian media professionals from print press and the Algerian Public Service Broadcaster (PSB). The main objective of these workshops is to reinforce professional capacities of Algerian media for them to produce complete and diverse content that goes deeper than a male-centric and stereotypical perspective and to act as a catalyst for gender equality.
The series will be opened by a training workshop addressed to print press journalists. 20 professionals from Algerian newspapers and magazines will benefit from this session that will take place from 10 to 12 June 2013 at the Algerian Institute of Advanced Financial Studies.

On their side, 40 practitioners from the Algerian PSB will benefit from two separated sessions organized at the Algerian PSB's premises. The training for TV professionals will take place from 17 to 19 June 2013 and the one addressed to radio practitioners will occur from 23 to 25 June 2013.
