One Planet, One Ocean

The ocean is the cradle of life and covers three-fourths of this blue planet. It is vital for the wellbeing of our ecosystems, essential for climate balance and indispensable to the global economy. In order to guarantee transition towards a model of sustainable development, societies must gain a better understanding of marine biodiversity resources and manage them more efficiently.

Our societies need science and innovation more than ever, in order to discover new marine resources as a source of food, energy, and other essential ocean-related challenges to secure a sustainable future.
