Training of media on use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in peace education and conflict-sensitive reporting

UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa supported Northern Uganda Media Club (NUMEC) to carry out a training of 20 reporters, news editors and citizen journalists from various districts in northern Uganda on use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in peace journalism and conflict sensitive reporting at Camp David Hotel, Pader, Uganda.
A “Toolkit for media reporting on peace and reconciliation in Uganda” has been developed to help in building capacity of media workers and citizen journalists to promote peace education in Northern Uganda.

This training workshop is part of UNESCO’s continuing activity of building capacity of community media practitioners under UNESCO’s Framework of Intersectorial and Interdisciplinary Programme of Action for Culture of Peace and Non-violence.
