World Teachers' Day and Science Education

Global Microscience and Water experiments during the 2011 World Teacher’s Day celebration at UNESCO

Every year, UNESCO celebrates International World Teachers Day on 5 October.
During the celebrations this year (on 4 October 2013), the Science and Engineering Units will host a series of workshops and exhibition which will include:
1- Microscience experiments with students: Students will perform different experiments using the microscience methodology
2- Intel: Demonstration of the use of new technologies for science teaching and engineering
3- Engineering: LEGO robotics workshops in which students learn the basics of engineering, robotics and programming (with EWB UK and Robogals)
4- Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers: Demonstration of teaching materials for engineering
5- Deyrolles: Science exhibition on sustainable development;
6- EPCA/UNESCO film: “Science: Where can it take you”.
