Meeting of the Bureau of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict
The meeting of the Bureau of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict will take place on 21 May 2015 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., room XI.
The Bureau will discuss, among others, the Egyptian request for the granting of enhanced protection to the World Heritage site, Thebes and its Necropolis; strengthening synergies between the 1999 Second Protocol to the Hague Convention of 1954 for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and the 1972 World Heritage Convention; distinctive emblem for cultural property under enhanced protection; and the Committee’s role in protecting cultural property in Iraq and Syria.
