World Science Day for Peace and Development

Established by UNESCO in 2001, World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated worldwide on 10 November each year.

The Day is an occasion to recall UNESCO's mandate and commitment to science. A broad range of activities is being organized worldwide.

This year's theme is "Towards green societies: equity, inclusiveness, participation". The day's activities include a Demonstration of the Micro-science Kits and Global Experiment, book launch of the Large Hadron Collider-LHC and an event entitled "Knowledge Systems, Knowledge Diversity, Knowledge Societies: Towards a UNESCO Policy on Engaging with Indigenous Peoples".
