Pacific Regional Cultural Statistics Training Workshop

UNESCO Institute for Statistics logo

This workshop provides cultural experts and National Statistics Offices in the Pacific with an opportunity to examine the linkages between cultural policy and cultural statistics through the 2009 UNESCO Framework for Cultural Statistics (FCS).
The workshop will look into how international standards can be used in assessing the culture sector’s socio-economic contribution to sustainable development in the Pacific and consider a roadmap for enhanced cultural cooperation in the region. Country papers will be presented on the experience in New Zealand and on the well-being indicators developed under Vanuatu’s Melanesian project. This workshop is organized jointly by UIS, UNESCO in Apia and the Human Development Department of the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC).
