World Book and Copyright Day 2017

The World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated every 23rd of April, a symbolic date in remembrance of the deaths of two major authors: William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes.

By celebrating this Day, UNESCO seeks to promote reading, publishing and the protection of copyright.
On Monday 24th of April, at the Organization’s Headquarters, UNESCO will organize a series of events, conferences, debates, exhibition, workshops to mark the Day.

Authors, publishers, booksellers, librarians around the world are invited to join UNESCO and celebrate this day.
