Engaging with UNESCO Networks and Programmes in Gender and Science
This UNESCO event, organized in the framework of the For Women in Science International Week, brings together this year's 15 International Rising Talents, the 5 Laureates and UNESCO staff. It will serve to present UNESCO’s activities related to science and gender and to explore potential paths of collaboration and common interests. Please note that this will be a close event not open to the public.
Every year, this international week recognize scientific excellence by highlighting the 5 brilliant women scientists who receive the L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science awards and 15 International Rising Talents who receive Fellowships.
One of the events of this FWIS Week takes place at UNESCO and provides a unique opportunity for the Laureates and IRTs to get a taste of UNESCO’s values, objectives and programmes worldwide and particularly those related to science and gender.
In 2017, the UNESCO event will take the form of an exchange between the Laureates, the IRT’s and UNESCO staff involved in programmes related to science and gender. An interactive and lively discussion should allow for synergies to be created, and avenues of cooperation to be found.
