Workshop on the Preservation of and Access to Documentary Heritage in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea
UNESCO Beijing Cluster Office, in collaboration with the National Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for UNESCO and the Grand People's Study House, will organize a training workshop on the preservation of and access to the documentary heritage including audiovisual documents on 24-26 October 2018 in Pyongyang, Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The workshop will reinforce the capacity of national experts from archival institutions on the preservation of and access to the documentary heritage; and to strengthen partnership and collaboration between all concerned agencies in DPRK through knowledge sharing. Participants will include representatives from the Grand People’s Study House, the National Bureau of Archive, the National Authority for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the Central Museum of Korean History, the Research Institute of National Old Books, the Academy of Social Science, the Radio and TV Broadcasting Committee, and the General Film Bureau of Ministry of Culture. An celebratory event will be held to mark the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage in Pyongyang (27 October).
