World Philosophy Day - 17th International Encounters on New Philosophical Practices

-

On the occasion of World Philosophy Day 2018, UNESCO will convene the 17th International Encounters on New Philosophical Practices (NPP) from 14 to 15 November 2018, hosted in cooperation with the UNESCO Chair on Philosophical Practices with Children at the University of Nantes (France).

This conference provides a forum for everyone who is interested in the practice of philosophy in all its forms, including the least traditional. It will include a range of parallel sessions addressing the various institutional settings in which enhanced presence of philosophy needs to be promoted.

They enable reflection on how to make philosophy accessible to as many people as possible, outside its traditional spaces and modes of expression – through primary and secondary schools, hospitals, prisons, cafés, evening classes, public libraries, theatres, cinema, businesses and other organizations, etc. Researchers, teachers, practitioners, as well as the simply curious, are all welcome to come and share their ideas.
