CAMPUS UNESCO "International Day for Women and Girls in Science"

CAMPUS UNESCO "International Day for Women and Girls in Science" will take place on February 11th, 2019 from 9:30am to 12:00 at UNESCO Headquarters, 125 Avenue de Suffren, Paris. Room IV.

WORKSHOP UNIVERSCIENCE :
UNIVERSCIENCE will organize a workshop to raise awareness among young people about women’s of science exceptional contributions. The students will be able to attend the workshop before the beginning of the Campus and at the end.

Speakers:
Adriana Marais : Theoretical physicist and International Rising Talent of the L'Oreal-Unesco for Women and Science Program in 2015. She is one of the 100 scientist selected for the Mars One project which goal is to establish human settlement on Mars.

Anais Orsi : Deputy Division Chef of the Laboratory for Climate and Environmental Sciences at the Atomic Energy Commission and International Rising Talent of the L'Oreal-Unesco for Women and Science Program in 2016.

Fatoumata Kébé : Astrophysicist, named one of the most influential french women in 2018 by Vanity Fair.

ABOUT CAMPUS UNESCO: To put the expertise of UNESCO teams and partners at the service of the youth for a better understanding of major contemporary issues. It is an opportunity for young people to exchange ideas on various topics alongside experts of the issues at hand. The experts are from UNESCO and civil society. Since 2014, 68 CAMPUSES raised awareness to over 22,000 young people on major issues such as sports and citizenship, peace, sustainable development, human rights, girls’ education, genocides, freedom of expression, and cultural heritage.
