Ethics Teachers’ Training Course in Syria

UNESCO organizes an Ethics Teachers’ Training Course (ETTC) in close collaboration with the Syrian National Commission for UNESCO, the Damascus University and the Syrian Radiologists Association, in Damascus, Syria, from 17 to 20 March 2019.

Ethics Teachers’ Training Courses are an important component of UNESCO's multifaceted capacity development strategy in Bioethics to address ethical issues arising from the rapid progress in medical and life sciences as UNESCO is mandated to promote, disseminate and elabraote bioethical principles.

Ethics Teachers Training Courses are designed to:
- introduce the participants to the means and resources of teaching ethics;
- teach the participants the methodologies and methods of teaching ethics; and
- assess and provide feedback on the participants’ demonstrations of teaching skills under the guidance of experienced teachers.

The workshop will follow a model programme of 4 days including a session on “Bioethics teaching in the Arab region”. It will be conducted in Arabic in a very interactive manner.
