Launching of the Software Heritage Acquisition Process

The first ever Software Heritage Acquisition Process guidelines will be released on 10 October 2019.
Software Heritage is the global archive of software source code initiated by Inria, the French National research institute for the digital sciences. In cooperation with UNESCO, the archive was officially launched at UNESCO Headquarters in June 2018. To date, over 6 billion source files and over 90 million software projects are archived in the repository. This 10 October, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the University of Pisa's first Computer Science course, UNESCO, the University of Pisa and Inria will present the first guidelines for Software Heritage Acquisition Process, a methodology for rescuing and curating legacy software source code.
