Conference “Girls’ and Women’s Education: the Way Forward”

The side-event of the UNESCO General Conference is intended to further highlight the Director-General’s Global Partnership on Girls’ and Women’s Education that was launched on 26 May 2011, focusing on secondary education and adult literacy. UNESCO also established a “High-Level Panel on Girls’ and Women’s Education for Empowerment and Gender Equality” to support this Global Partnership.
The event will bring together stakeholders from different constituencies to provide a forum for exchange of innovative initiatives that would support girls’ and women’s education around the world. The Panelists will be asked to share their actions and ideas and to interact with the audience.
The event will be webcasted.
