“Better Life, Better Future” - One Year On

For the First Anniversary of "Better Life, Better Future", UNESCO Global Partnership for Girls' and Women's Education, Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, will be joined by Ms Michelle Bachelet, Executive Director of UN Women, and members of UNESCO’s High-level Panel on Girls’ and Women’s Education for Empowerment and Gender Equality.

The programme includes:
- Key note address by Ms. Irina Bokova and by Ms. Michelle Bachelet
- Moderated discussion with members of the High-level Panel on Girls’ and Women’s Education for Empowerment and Gender Equality
- Live and video testimonies from girls and women beneficiaries of the Global Partnership’s projects
- Interactive launch of the electronic version of World Atlas of Gender Equality in Education

The discussion will be moderated by Ms Genie Godula, journalist of France 24.

A panel discussion will be organized to reflect on the successes to date, scaling up and how to build stronger coalitions to enable increased investment in girls and women’s education and sustained attention to gender equality through education on the international development agenda.

The event will be broadcast live for interested viewers across the globe and at UNESCO’s and UN Women’s Field Offices. The global audience will be able to address real-time questions to the panellists through Twitter.
