Workshop on the Pan Africa Conference on Teacher Development

In consultation with the African Union Commission and the ADEA Working Group on the Teaching Profession and their partners, the Secretariat of the International Task Force on Teachers for EFA will organise a training workshop on the Pan Africa Conference on Teacher Development (PACTED).
The fifth Conference of Ministers in charge of Education in Africa (COMEDAF V) held in Abuja (Nigeria) in April 2012 adopted the Roadmap on PACTED, together with the Monitoring and Pan Evaluation Framework, which aims to enhance collaborative efforts in supporting Teacher development in Africa. The two tools are meant to support African countries and the African Union initiatives for improving the quality of policies and practices aiming to bridge the teacher gaps for the achievement of the EFA and MDG goals.
As a coordination body with the mandate to enhance collaboration for addressing teacher issues globally, the International Task Force on Teachers for EFA, in cooperation with the African Union Commission and ADEA, is organizing this training workshop in favor of the key partners supporting the African Union and its member states in the field of teacher development.
The objectives of the workshop are to clarify the PACTED Roadmap and the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework, and to enhance all partners’ awareness of the content and implications of these planning and coordination tools.
