The IOC of UNESCO together with the High-CO2 World (SCOR) and the International Geosphere-Biosphere Reserve (IGBP) sponsor the “Third Symposium on The Ocean in a High-CO2 World, 24-27 September 2012 in Monterey, California, USA.
Since the first symposium in 2004 the IOC-UNESCO supports the ocean acidification network in organizing this unique event to attract the world’s leading scientists, discussing the impacts of ocean acidification on marine organisms, ecosystems, and biogeochemical cycles. The conference covers as well the socio-economic consequences of ocean acidification, and policy and management implications. This is one of the flagship IOC conferences.
The symposium will offer the worldwide community of scientists working to understand ocean acidification the opportunity to share their research results and develop new research collaborations.
