Public lecture “Driving for fast development in Tanzania: Strengthening the management and practice of innovation and entrepreneurship”

UNESCO Dar-es-Salaam Office, in cooperation with the Tanzanian National Social Security Fund, is organising a high-level public lecture on “Driving for fast development in Tanzania: Strengthening the management and practice of innovation and entrepreneurship” which will be held in Dar-es-Salaam, on 14 March 2013, between 3pm and 5pm. The invited speakers include Prof Joseph Tidd and Prof John Bessant from Universities of Sussex and Exeter (United Kingdom), respectively.
Organized within the context of UNESCO’s assistance to reposition the STI system for the fostering of economic growth and competitiveness in Tanzania, the public lecture will highlight the role of technological innovation and entrepreneurship in fast-tracking development. The event will be chaired by Hon Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda, the Prime Minister of United Republic of Tanzania and will be attended by ministers, industry captains, senior officials of government and universities, as well as representatives from development agencies and selected embassies. The lecture is an activity of the science reform programme of Tanzania which has received financial support from the One UN Fund and the UNESCO/Japan Funds-in-Trust for the Capacity-Building of Human Resources.
