Annual Meeting of the Council of Ministers of Culture of South-Eastern Europe
Brdo pri Kranju castle, Slovenia
The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, will open, on the occasion of her official bilateral visit to Slovenia, the annual meeting of the Council of Ministers of Culture of South-Eastern Europe (CoMoCoSEE).
Ministers of Culture from South-East Europe will discuss policies and guidelines for the enhancement of “cultural and arts education”, the thematic focus retained by the Slovenian presidency.
Ministers will also discuss, as a follow-up to the final Declaration adopted during the 8th Ministerial Conference on Cultural Heritage in South-East Europe (Sofia, Bulgaria; 24-25 October 2012), the establishment of a new unified ministerial platform on culture and development in the region. Besides her bilateral meetings with Slovenian authorities, the Director-General will inaugurate on 8th April at the National Museum of Slovenia, the travelling exhibit of national history museums from South-East Europe “Imagining the Balkans. Identities and Memory in the long 19th century”, coordinated by the UNESCO Venice Office.
