The government of Fiji will host the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Capacity Building Workshop to be held in Nadi, Fiji, in May 2019, in partnership with CRIHAP, Category II Centre in China.
Over the years, the Pacific Island States have actively engaged in the ICH safeguarding programme in the Pacific. Now that most of them are parties to the ICH Convention, the Programme is making a shift from ratification to implementation.
The 2019 CRIHAP Workshop will, therefore, focus on the ICH safeguarding plan development. It will also provide hands-on training in developing an International Assistance Request to the ICH Fund, which would provide much-needed resources in order to support country-level actions.
