Reorienting Teacher Education to Address Sustainability: 7th Biennial Meeting of the International Network of Teacher Education Institutions

Teacher educators from around the world discuss sustainability, notably climate change education for sustainable development and quality education.
This expert meeting brings together teacher educators and staff from Ministries of Education from around the world to discuss reorienting teacher education to address sustainability. The thematic focus for this meeting is climate change education for sustainable development (CCESD) and quality education.
There will be workshops on CCESD and other Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) topics as well as on UNESCO curricula (e.g., the Transatlantic Slave Trade). The final day of the conference will emphasize quality education and measuring student engagement as an indicator of quality. Other topics of plenary sessions include the status of ESD in teacher education, the purposes of education, ESD Pedagogies, and creating and maintaining local/national networks of Teaching Education Institutions.
The meeting will be held on the campus of York University.
