Promoting the right to quality education for Roma children
The regional expert meeting “Promoting the Right to Quality Education for Roma People”, organized by the Ministry of Education of Serbia in cooperation with UNESCO, aims to foster regional cooperation and identify key areas of action.
The meeting will be attended by eight Central and Eastern European countries that participated in the first Consultative meeting with Permanent Delegations organized by UNESCO last April. Experts coming from the Ministries of Education and teacher training institutions from Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine will attend the meeting as well as representatives of relevant international and regional organizations.
The meeting will provide an opportunity for the participating countries to reaffirm their commitment towards the realization of the right to quality education for Roma people. It will serve as a forum for an exchange of views on the challenges and on possible areas of action. The participants will also discuss ways of fostering their cooperation on Roma education.
