Promoted by the Núcleo de Estudos Afro-Brasileiros (NEAB/UFSCar), UNESCO, Ação Educativa, CEERT and CEAFRO, in partnership with Instituto C&A e Save the Children UK, the meeting will be held on 17 and 18 March, at USFCAR, in São Carlos/SP. The event aims at building an articulated action policy agenda between black movements and partner organizations in order to accelerate the implementation of the National Plan 10.639/2003 (Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para a Educação das Relações Étnico-Raciais e para o Ensino de História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira e Africana) and influence on building the new National Plan on Education (2011-2020).
The event is linked to the debate promoted in the workshop on the Law 10.639/2003, held in Brasilia, in November 2007, organized by the Ministry of Education/Department for Continuing Education, Literacy and Diversity (MEC/SECAD) and UNESCO. The main result was the elaboration of the National Plan on the Implementation of the Law 10.639/2003, issued to MEC in December 2008 and launched in May 2009.
