The conference is based on an interactive process and a democratic participation. Children, young people, professors and communities from all over the world are invited to think, discuss and face socio-environmental issues.
This is a pedagogical campaign, which brings to education the dimension of the environmental policy. It mobilizes and engages young people (12 -14 years old) in researches and discussions with the school community about the contemporary environmental challenges.

This is a constructive process in which people meet and deliberate on the proposed themes, and choose representatives who lead the consensual ideas to other events. Such events include conferences in schools, in the states or regions (optional), in countries and, finally, the International Conference.

The International Conference project is part of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014).
