Study “School-Family Interaction: subsidies for pedagogical practices”

The study "School-family interaction: subsidies for pedagogical practices" will be launched during the 57th General Meeting of the National Forum of Mayors and the 11th Meeting of the Big Cities Working Group of the Ministry of Education, taking place concomitantly in Florianópolis, Brazil. It represents UNESCO in Brazil’s main activity in order to celebrate the Global Action Week on Education for All 2010, which concentrates its theme on financing quality education for all.
The book on the study "School-family Interaction: subsidies for pedagogical practices” is the result of a partnership between UNESCO and the Education Ministry/Basic Education Secretariat (SEB) about measures adopted in some Brazilian cities with the objective to promote closer involvement between schools and students’ families. Presently, the book is published only in Portuguese.

The two events expect to gather 174 representatives of state capitals and large cities with over 150.000 inhabitants. The initiative of the Basic Education Secretariat of the Ministry of Education intends to broaden the discussion on the quality improvement of basic education in the country.
