Exchange with indigenous fellows

This annual event is organised within the framework of the 2010 UNESCO/OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Programme.
During the meeting indigenous fellows discuss the situation and aspirations of their communities with UNESCO colleagues, focusing on the organization’s areas of competences.

These encounters have proven to be a very valuable opportunity to engage in a constructive dialogue with representatives of local indigenous communities and better understand their concerns and aspirations.

The five 2010 indigenous fellows are from the USA (Tlingit, Paiute and Shoshone, Alaska), New Zealand (Maori), Namibia (Haillom), Nepal (Sunuwar) and Fiji (I’Taukei).

See below a short summary of their profiles.
