His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saoud, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The speech of Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will address the issue of cultural heritage, which is one of preferred fields of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and UNESCO.
Last April, an exhibition on the current states of the architectural heritage sites of Saudi Arabia was inaugurated at UNESCO by UNESCO Director-General and Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who heads the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiques. The exhibition featured the Historic City of Jeddah, which has just been inscribed as a World Heritage Site.

Saudi Arabia, one of the founding countries of UNESCO in 1946, ranks among the 10 largest donors to the organization. In addition to its significant contribution to the Emergency Fund, the country is currently funding several extrabudgetary projects including the International Programme Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for a Culture of Peace and Dialogue, and the Fund of the late Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to increase the use of the Arabic language in UNESCO.
