VIth Latin American and Caribbean Congress of Redbioética UNESCO


The "VIth Latin American and Caribbean Congress of Redbioética UNESCO: 10 years of the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights" will take place in Alajuela, Costa Rica, from 16 to 18 November 2016.

This edition will focus on the tenth anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights as regulatory, educational, and consultative instrument for ethics and scientific committees and citizens in general.

The Congress is organized by the Regional Programme on Bioethics and Ethics of Science of UNESCO for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO Office in Montevideo) and the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Bioethics-Redbioética-UNESCO, with the collaboration of the National Technical University of Costa Rica.

It is aimed at researchers, teachers, ethics and scientific committee members and students from the region. Following the structure of the 14 articles of the Declaration, it will offer lectures by international experts, panel discussions, oral presentations and poster sessions addressing the ethical and human rights perspective of biomedical topics and research, including social issues, health and the environment.
