UNESCO Windhoek and UNESCO Brasilia in partnership with the Angolan National Commission for UNESCO will hold a two day training workshop for 20 local participants on the E-governance Toolkit for Developing Countries, in Luanda, Angola on 10 – 11 March 2010.
UNESCO is dedicated to improve access to information for development, and through this workshop, aims to offer a helping hand to policy makers and senior executives in developing nations by endowing them with comprehensive information about what, how and when to embark successfully on the road to e-government.

This E-Government Toolkit aims to demystify concepts behind e-government and strengthen the understanding of all those involved in planning and execution of E-government projects. The toolkit offers an action framework involving all the stakeholders in developing nations including parliamentarians, government executives, institutions as well as non governmental organizations and guides them through various phases in their e-government initiatives.

The toolkit endeavors to address all possible aspects for initiating, implementing and sustaining e-government programmes in any developing nation, right from defining the very concept of e-government and discussing the e-readiness and e-government action plan to technology, infrastructure, capacity building as well as legislative and regulatory framework.

The facilitator for the workshop will be Mr. Guilherme Canela Godoi, from the UNESCO Office in Brazil, as part of UNESCO’s continued commitment to South-South cooperation initiatives.
