23rd Meeting of the Council of Pacific Arts and Regional Cultural Policy Workshop

UNESCO and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) join forces to assist Pacific Small Island Development States in the elaboration of its cultural policy and strategy at this workshop.
This workshop aims at identifying a common methodology for cultural resource mapping that would accommodate the specificities of cultural treasures in the region.

UNESCO’s international legal instruments in culture provide important guidelines and principles to serve as a basis for the elaboration of cultural policy and mapping exercise.

Prior to the workshop, the twenty-third session of the Council of Pacific Arts (CPA) also discusses, among others, the evaluation of the Pacific Arts Festival with a view to enhancing its strategic role in the protection and enhancement of cultural diversity in the region.
