The Greater Horn Horizon is an independent and autonomous Research-Policy-Forum, regrouping scholars, intellectuals and other interested professionals from the Horn of Africa and the Diaspora to actively participate in the analysis and quest for sustainable responses to the regions’ root problems.

Its major objective is to facilitate reflection on the common future of the peoples of the region, in order to contribute to the search for and agreement on mutually accepted solutions to the regional problems. The Forum also aims at creating a circle of committed scholars and intellectuals tied by the sentiment of solidarity and mutual assistance, who should guide the sharing of ideas and visions on their common future.

The idea to the Greater Horn Horizon Forum emerged within a long process of reflection and discussion between different scholars from the region and the Diaspora. Formulated as a response to the deep-rooted conflicts in the region, this forum of intellectuals was established to offer a new space of dialogue exploring communalities and shared interests in the region.
