9th UNESCO Youth Forum

An integral part of UNESCO’s General Conference, the 9th UNESCO Youth Forum 2015 will take place in the autumn of 2015, immediately before the 38th session of the General Conference, at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, bringing together young women and men from across the world to discuss youth issues and find solutions.

This edition’s theme is “Young Global Citizens for a Sustainable Planet”, to allow discussion of sustainable development challenges in the post-2015 context, while also maintaining a focus on climate change and related global debates around the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21).

Online consultations with youth throughout the biennium and an online discussion platform will ensure that young people are able to participate in the Youth Forum process at any moment and get their voices heard wherever they are in the world.

The UNESCO Youth Team will engage in continuous consultation with youth throughout the Forum’s development, ensuring that the latest and most pressing youth needs and concerns are addressed in the 9th edition of the Forum and that this is truly an event for, with and by youth.
