Sustainabilty landscape futures

The University of Canberra in partnership with UNESCO will address issues of environmental sustainability in an international forum that will reflect on policy driven scientific research integrating social, economic and environmental sciences. The forum will bring together international and local expertise to consider how integrated scientific approaches to capacity building can improve links between land and water management and the needs of society.

Conference themes include:
- Global Challenges and Sustainability Science - Integrated approaches between the social and human sciences and the natural sciences
- Sustainable Solutions for Water Insecurity
- Integrated Resource Management in a Landscape Context
- Thematic Case Studies on Sustainability Science in the Asia-Pacific Region
- Sustainability Science and Energy Systems (e.g. Coal Seam Gas)

We invite papers addressing the conference themes from academic, social, scientific, public, business and community sectors as well as international, national and local government and multilateral institutions.
Poverty, food security, sustainable energy, management of water and environmental resources, controlling disease, mitigating natural and man-induced disasters and conflicts, and fostering sustainable development are some of the greatest challenges of our time and resolving such complex problems requires integrated sustainable scientific approaches.
