Information meeting on the UN World Water Development Report 2016

Information meeting to the UN Member States on the launch of the World Water Development Report 2016, titled "Water and Jobs", will be held on Tuesday 29 March 2016.
This information meeting to the UN Member States acts as a briefing on the main findings of the World Water Development Report 2016, titled "Water and Jobs".

The report emphasizes how opportunities for employment growth and decent jobs depend on the sustainable management of water resources and provision of water supply and sanitation services.

The session will be opened with welcome remarks by the Director of the UNESCO Field Office in New York Ms. Marie-Paule Roudil and Secretary a.i. of UN-Water Ms. Fedrica Pietracci, followed by a video message of the Director General Irina Bokova.
The core of the session consists of a presentation by the Coordinator of the World Water Assessment Programme Prof. Stefan Uhlenbrook, followed by a High Level Panel Debate on "Water and Jobs, the prerequisite to achieve the SDGs". An italian representative will end the meeting with closing remarks.
Hard copies of the Report and its related materials will be distributed.
