‘Young for the Ocean’: International Day for Biological Diversity
International Day for Biological Diversity, celebrated on 22 May 2012 under the theme 'Marine Biodiversity', 200 students aged 12 to 17 will come to UNESCO to learn about marine biodiversity.
On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, celebrated on 22 May 2012 under the theme 'Marine Biodiversity', the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, the Total Foundation and Nausicaä (Aquarium de Boulogne/Mer) are introducing 200 young people from age 12 to 17 to the many aspects of marine biodiversity.
Many renowned specialists are coming together to share their passion and expertise on this theme with the young guests, including Gilles Boeuf, President of the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle, Catherine Chabaud, journalist and well-known sailing champion, and Maud Fontenoy, spokesperson for UNESCO-IOC and the World Ocean Network.
