“Increasing safety of journalists” kick-off meeting

UNESCO donates protective vests and helmets to media professionals in Gaza    

UNESCO Office in Kathmandu is organizing this meeting which is aimed at presenting “Increasing the Safety for Journalists” project to a larger stakeholder group and provide a briefing on its objectives, strategies and actions while also discussing and analyzing the situation of journalists’ safety in Nepal.
The project is funded by UN Peace Fund for Nepal and has to be implemented by UNESCO with the Ministry of Information and Communications and the National Human Rights Commission of Nepal as national partners and in close cooperation with other organizations such as the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Sancharika Samuha, the Association of Community Radio Broadcasters, Freedom Forum and members of the Nepal International Media Partnership (NIMP).
