International Conference on Ethics and Professionalism: Sustainable Science, Technology and Society (ICEP 2010)

The conference is a broad platform to discuss the disciplinary and interdisciplinary practices related to ethics and professionalism that arise in the context of real world applications. It highlights what constitutes ethics and professionalism within the context of sustainable science, technology and society.
The discussion shall range from the theoretical, philosophical and practical aspects of ethics and professionalism to wide-ranging multidisciplinary practices and perspectives on knowledge and methods.

The following themes will be discussed:
- Ethics and professionalism in science, technology and engineering, including environmental ethics and bioethics;
- Ethics and professionalism in medical, nursing and public health, in particular DNA banking, stem cells, and abortion;
- Ethics and professionalism at the workplace, including gender and discrimination;
- Ethics and professionalism in governance, business and social responsibility, such as issues of corruption and inter-ethnic relations;
- Ethics and professionalism in education.
