A Presenter at Kyela Community Radio, Tanzania.
Makerere University is organizing an English training to allow its media trainers to better understand media self-regulation. The workshop aims at stimulating debate on media self-regulation among ugandese newspaper editors and radio programme producers. This event will sensitize key media gatekeepers in the principles of self-regulation as a way of improving the standard and quality of journalism, and also to gradually encourage self-regulation by industry instead of state regulation through laws and courts.
Through this IPDC project, the Independent Media Council has entered into partnership with Makerere University Department of Journalism and Communication in order to train media trainers from the Makerere University and also from other media institutions in self-regulation on a regular and sustainable basis.
