Palau Underwater Archaeology Training

Palau Underwater Archaeology Training will be held by the Bureau of Arts and Culture (BAC) of the Ministry of Culture and Community Affairs of Palau from 18 November to 6 December 2013.
This national training course will consist of lectures and hands-on exercises relating to underwater archaeology. The lectures will focus on the introduction to underwater archaeology, underwater cartography, guidelines and good practices regarding the management of underwater cultural heritage, as well as the UNESCO Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage.
The training programme includes study tours to Peleliu Island and Rock Islands Southern Lagoon. The latter is the first World Heritage site in Palau.
