This symposium, organized in partnership with the Collège international de philosophie, aims at rethinking the human condition in light of two major contemporary thinkers, Gustave Guillaume and Jean Piaget.
Drawing on philosophy, psychology, linguistics and neurolinguistics, the symposium will strive to build a better understanding of the relationship between language and thought. Such an understanding is crucial to analyze the different ways in which humans construct, deconstruct and reconstruct language in the quest for knowledge. Can we reasonably hope today to mediate conflicts and tensions that oppose different groups of people without analyzing the language games that serve to veil and unveil reality?
Access will be upon presentation of an invitation and ID. To receive the invitation, please write to worldphilosophyday@unesco.org, or call +33 (0)1 45 68 45 48.
