This publication, a collection of 34 documented, analytical and illustrated pedagogical worksheets designed for use in education, the media and civil society, takes a comparative approach as philosophers and teachers examine, among other topics, the philosophy of history, the philosophy of religion, the philosophy of sciences and the philosophy of art, in addition to their teaching of intercultural skills.
For centuries, the Arab-Muslim civilization has drawn its riches, its vitality and its originality from the multiplicity of its sources and resources, from the dialogue established between its thinkers and from the fruitful controversy rendered possible by its philosophical tradition and Greek heritage. It is this dialogue and spirit of emulation regarding the life of the mind that the philosophical texts in this book have attempted to reflect and reconstruct, through the great thinkers of past and present times.
The publication is financed by Spanish funds within the framework of a partnership between UNESCO and the Alliance of Civilizations.
Access will be upon presentation of an invitation and ID. To receive the invitation, please write to worldphilosophyday@unesco.org, or call +33 (0)1 45 68 45 48.
