Youth Drive Change

TAFISA and UNESCO officially join forces with a partnership launch event during the 7th UNESCO Youth Forum. Gathering more than 200 youth delegates, observers, panelists and journalists, the event will be led by Mr Wolfgang Baumann, Secretary General of TAFISA, and Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO.

Within the framework of UNESCO’s global priority Africa, the Organization’s partnership with TAFISA leverages the natural affinity between youth and sport to promote peace and development. In particular, the partnership will jointly establish an African network of peer-educated volunteers to promote inclusion, socialization and socio-economic stability.

The launch of this new partnership is a tangible opportunity to progress objectives related to gender equality and youth engagement through sport, illustrating the main theme of the 7th UNESCO Youth Forum, “How Youth Drive Change”, in action.
