Seminar and Workshop on Bioethics and Law
Both events, which will gather around 400 jurists, aim at promoting the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights and its application to an audience that can help to transform its principles into laws. UNESCO co-organizes the seminar with the Supreme Court of Justice of Mexico and the Mexican Federal Judicial Council for the seminar, and the workshop with the Mexican Academy of Medecine for the workshop.
UNESCO will be represented by Dafna Feinholz, Chief of Bioethics programme, who will deliver one full day training session during the seminar, and participate as an expert, conducting the workshop, coordinating the debates of the round tables.
In addition, the seminar and the workshop will be devoted to the analysis of practical cases and are expected to achieve several UNESCO objectives in the area of bioethics including:
- Sensitizing and training several Judges;
- Disseminating the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights;
- Promoting its application;
- Consolidating and promoting the international network of Judges involved in bioethics.
