12th Meeting of the United Nations Inter-Agency Committee on Bioethics (UNIACB)
The 12th Meeting of the United Nations Inter-Agency Committee on Bioethics (UNIACB) will be hosted by UNESCO at its Headquarters in Paris, France, from 14 to 15 May 2013. The meeting will be closed to the public.
As a follow up of previous discussions, the meeting will be devoted to: organ, tissue and cell transplantation and trafficking; activities with National Ethics Committees and Research Ethics Committees; and sharing information on new emerging ethical issues and new development in the field of bioethics.
Since 2003, the United Nations Inter-Agency Committee on Bioethics (UNIACB), under the UNESCO’s coordination, has been serving as a key inter-agency mechanism for sharing information between and among intergovernmental organizations dealing with issues related to bioethics, thus fostering better cooperation and coordination.
The UNIACB sessions have been hosted by different Member Organizations of the UNIACB, and presently it will be UNESCO which will host the 12th session at its Headquarters in Paris, from 14 to 15 March 2013.
